Description Welcome to Chris's Round Robin. We are inviting you to participate in a gathering of canoe racing women who wish to celebrate the life of Chris Schmidt. Chris, a most wonderful athlete and friend, loved to race canoes almost as much as she loved her fellow competitors. And so, in that spirit, we will hold an event in which we carry Chris with us for a full day of wild and crazy competition and great fun and joy.

This is an all day event, beginning at 9:00. Event includes a full day of racing, break for lunch, awards gathering, and a potluck supper at the home of Kathy Manizza and Ken Larson. Remembrance shirts for all participants.

This event is an endurance event. Every competitor will race with every other competitor. Twenty participants, registered on a first-come pre-registration basis, will line up on the starting line 19 times. Each race will last about 8 minutes, more or less. That means that everyone will be racing for 160 minutes, and everyone will be exhausted and laughing/crying at the end of the day. No participant can drop out, for this will ruin the round robin for everyone. There is no way to substitute. Please do not sign up unless you are sure that you can race the entire day, 19 times.

We expect that there will be more women interested than we can accommodate, so please send your form with the check to confirm that you will be attending. Jennifer will send you a confirmation note via email.

Refreshments

Water, sports drink, fruit and GU will be provided during the event. If you need more nourishment, please bring your own choice of lunch.

From 91 North or South

Take I-84 East to Exit 66.
At end of ramp turn left on South Frontage Road .
Proceed 0.1 mile to stop sign. Turn Right onto Bolton Road.
Proceed 1.3 miles to Hatch Hill Road. Turn left onto Hatch Hill.
Proceed 1.0 mile to Grier Road. Turn Right onto Grier Road.
Proceed 0.6 miles to Camp Newhoca on right.
From I-84 Westbound Take Exit 66.
At end of ramp turn right and proceed 0.2 miles to Bolton Road.
Turn right onto Bolton road .
Proceed 1.4 miles to Hatch Hill Road. Turn left onto Hatch Hill.
Proceed 1.0 mile to Grier Road. Turn Right onto Grier Road.
Proceed 0.6 miles to Camp Newhoca on right.

Straight through first stop sign .
Bear right onto Tolland road. House is on the left just pass Indian Notch Park.
